Sharen Ferre Campbell our wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed through the veil to be with her loved ones on October 28, 2019.
All of our hearts are aching as we say goodbye, but we feel blessed and comforted to know she has returned to her Heavenly Father and beloved family members that had preceded her.
Sharen was born on April 6, 1940 in Provo, Utah to Minerva (Neva) Daniels Ferre and Sherling Warren Ferre. She was a much-treasured addition to the three sons born in previous years, and a welcomed gift, after Sharen’s parents lost their only other baby girl, Doris six years earlier. Sharen enjoyed a simple and wonderful childhood in Provo graduating from Maeser Elementary, Farrer Junior High and Provo High school. She attended BYU where she met the love of her life, Travis, whom she married on September 9, 1960 (59 years ago!) in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was the beloved mother to six children (two daughters and four sons): Shauna Haslam (Kent) of Mountain Green, Deborah who preceded her in death at the age of 7, Jason (Emily Reichert), of Cedar Hills, Michael (Leah Hall), of West Jordan, Derek (Cindy Groberg) of Syracuse, Steven (Christina Hall) of Apex, North Carolina; Grandmother to 24, Natasha, BreAnne, Jacob, and Aaron, Bailey, Kaytlin, Emma Rose, Aiden and Bennet, Taeler, Dailyn, Ashtyn, Chandler and Aislee, Spencer, Dylan, Madison and Ellie & Danna, Sydney, Phoebe, John, Gavin and Penny; Great Grandmother to 15 much adored great grandchildren.
Sharen loved to plan and host a multitude of gatherings at her home in Centerville. Family would gather together in her backyard for various special occasions. Sharen had a unique way of making each child and grandchild feel as though they were her favorite. Besides making holidays and birthdays special, complete with matching plates, lovely centerpieces and napkins folded in a special way, she always made it a priority to attend important events of her children and grandchildren. Sharen discovered her love of the Sculptured Arts while in her golden years. She has created many treasured art pieces that will be adored by family for many more years to come.
She loved to travel and was thrilled with all the trips she was able to take with her husband. She was a quiet soul but had a great capacity to listen well. She knew how to be a good friend. As a newlywed she worked as a secretary at BYU and Geneva Steel Credit Unions. When her children arrived, she was thankful she was able to be a “stay-at-home” mother until her youngest son was about 11 years old. She then worked as a secretary at Little & Grand America Hotels and for Davis County Gov. at the Golden Years Senior Center in Bountiful and in Health Promotions & Senior Services in Farmington. She enjoyed her fellow workers and her career very much.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served the church in many capacities. She especially loved her callings serving as Relief Society President, the pianist in the Primary as well as Relief Society, and the Ward Newsletter Editor.
You may visit with the family, Friday, November 1, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT, or November 2, 2019 from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm at the LDS Chapel 160 South 300 East, Centerville, UT.
