Keith D'AusilioSeptember 14, 1955 ~ January 7, 2018 (age 62)
Keith D’Ausilio born September 1955 Scott AFB, Illinois where his father was stationed and died January 7, 2018.
He grew up in La Mirada, California and it was there that he developed his love for motorcycles. He loved riding dirt bikes and quickly excelled at motocross racing. It wasn’t long before he acquired his first street bike and his love for motorcycles.
As an eighth grader, enrolled in Wood Shop, Keith completed his first major art project, a coffee table size chess board and playing pieces. His creativity was surpassed only by his talent and he had a talent for everything he tried. Jewelry made from spoons, bracelets made from nickels and various types of art welded from nuts and bolts and different types of metals. If it required creativity, Keith mastered it. His metal art is something to behold and was displayed at the Davis Art Center. He was a welder by trade, but was really a “Jack of all trades”. “He could fix anything” said his Grandson Dominick, who continually put him to the test.
Keith was also a talented musician. He played the guitar, accordion, piano, banjo and even the drums. He loved to play them all especially when there was someone to “jam” with.
Keith was extremely intelligent, “the smartest man I know” says his Grandson Dominick. Keith had a passion for learning, never stopped, and turned that into a passion for teaching. He loved working as a welding instructor at Job Corp and became a mentor to many of the students. He believed the greatest gift he could give as to pass on his knowledge to his grand children and others. They all cherished the time and the knowledge he shared with them.
We all cherished the time and the knowledge Keith shared with us. He will be greatly missed.
